  1. A. EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROJECT SERVICES

Opportunity diagnostic

We conduct an opportunity diagnostic activity creating a baseline from which to start the skills development discussion. During this initial review we evaluate the current training activity and future skills development requirements. Our customised solution is created in collaboration with the organisation and within existing resource constraints. Skills development training options can consist of a range of blended delivery solutions. Our objective is to not only ensure optimisation of skills development activities, but also to gain access to any available SETA grants and taxation incentives and benefits.

Regulatory and Compliance

Multiple layers of regulatory and legal requirements exist around nationally recognised training. These include SETA accreditation regulations, including recognition and transferability of prior learning; compliance with the Skills Development Act; securing Employee tax benefits; optimising Income Tax incentives; and navigating Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) scorecard benefits. We will ensure that you are understand your responsibilities as a participant of the process and access all the benefits available to you. Our services will ensure that you comply with, and leverage, the various pieces of legislation.

Candidate Sourcing and Screening

The cornerstone to successful skills development is ensuring that the identified development opportunity is appropriate to each candidate, their personal orientation, aligned with their organisational roles and goals, and own abilities. Too many learners are set up for failure through random selection processes, without due consideration of their abilities. Many skills programs, learnerships, and national qualifications have prescribed entry requirements. Our proven sourcing and screening tool for employed and unemployed candidates provide employers with confidence that candidates will be correctly matched.

Temporary Employment Services

The Skills Development Act makes provision for internships, learnerships, and apprenticeships as formal learning agreements that comprise theoretical and practical components. Practical learning is evidenced through in-service or on-the-job training and is invaluable to accessing experience and enhancing employment market prospects post-qualification. Our service extends to acting on behalf employer groups and industry associations by sourcing additional workplace hosts to enable opportunities for learners to undertake workplace-based learning agreements. The submission and registration of these agreements with various SETAs form part of our service offering.

Workplace Compliance

Access to government funded training from institutions like the National Skills Fund (NSF), Department of Labour (DoL), and SETA grants are conditional, to the employer’s workplace being provisionally approved during a site visit. A workplace host-learning site must meet minimum criteria to ensure that any learner hosted under a national training agreement is able to receive relevant on the job training and relevant workplace experience during the learning contract period. Workplace requirements typically relate to both infrastructure as well as adequate mentoring and coaching support during on-the-job learning by mentors and coaches.

Quality Assurance & Reporting

Quality assurance is an ongoing process throughout the training lifecycle. Quality assurance processes by the SETAs now typically include induction moderation prior to commencement, interval moderation, and finally exit moderation. As project managers we pro-actively address this risk by conducting site visits to quality assure the training being delivered, and that the assessment output is valid, reliable, sufficient, and consistent. Quarterly project reporting milestones need to be met to ensure continuation of project funding. We conduct ongoing reviews to ensure clients meet their quality targets and assist in them meeting reporting obligations to the funding entities.
